Welcome to my website! My name is Begüm Bilgin. I am an organizational psychologist, researcher, teacher, and immigrant who observes life with curiosity, science, and love. I am passionately curious about how people think, feel, and behave in work-related contexts, which I study through various scientific methods.

I was born and raised in a multicultural family in Turkey. After completing my bachelor's and master's degrees there, I lived, studied, and worked in various countries, including the United States and the Netherlands. I am currently living in the United Kingdom, where I work as an Assistant Professor at the University of Liverpool Management School.

My research focuses on the issues of leadership, emotions, and diversity. I explore what leaders can do to unite people around a common vision despite factors that divide them, such as intergroup conflict, physical distance, and hierarchies. Additionally, I am passionate about investigating how leaders create different emotional experiences and even emotional cultures at work among employees.

As a visiting Ph.D. Candidate, I spent nearly a year working with my mentors and coauthors in the Management Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. This was a transformative academic experience. Wharton is my other academic home and definitely holds a special place in my heart!
